Privacy policy
This is an English summary of our German privacy policy (Datenschutzerklärung). It is provided for convenience; if the two versions differ, the German text is binding.
It explains what personal data we collect on the Wohnmobil Ankauf Schweiz website, why we use it, who receives it and what rights you have. It applies to the website itself, to enquiries you send us through the offer form, by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail, and to the handling of a vehicle purchase. We follow the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). If you contact us from an EU or EEA member state, we also take the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) into account.
1. Who is responsible
Autoankauf Schweiz AG, Aadorferstrasse 30, 8353 Elgg, Canton of Zurich, Switzerland. Phone and WhatsApp: 076 226 46 46. E-mail: info@wohnmobilankaufschweiz.ch.
2. What data we process
- Offer form: the details you enter – your name, phone number, e-mail address and town, the vehicle details (for example make, model, body type, mileage, first registration, fuel and your asking price) and your free-text remarks – plus the time of your enquiry and a hash derived from your IP address and a secret salt, which cannot be turned back into the address and serves only to block automated bulk submissions.
- Photos: pictures of your vehicle you choose to upload. They may show number plates, people or your home; please upload only what you actually want us to see, and avoid pictures of other people. We use them solely to assess your vehicle.
- Phone, WhatsApp and e-mail: your contact details and the content of your message. If you use WhatsApp, the service provider also processes your data under its own privacy terms, including outside Switzerland and the EEA, which we cannot control; if you prefer to avoid that, use the form, phone or e-mail.
- Purchase and handover: if we buy your vehicle, the data needed for the contract, payment, collection and deregistration – in particular the details from the vehicle registration document (Fahrzeugausweis), your address, a copy of an identity document where required and, depending on the payment method, your bank details. If there is an outstanding lease or loan and you ask us to obtain a settlement quote, we also process your signed authority and the lender's details.
- Cookie-free visit statistics: when a page is opened we compute a hash from technical characteristics such as the IP address and browser identifier, combined with a secret random value (salt) and the current date, so the result changes every day. Your IP address cannot be recovered from it, and visits on different days cannot be linked. We store only anonymous details: the page viewed, the time, the language, the device type (desktop, tablet or phone), the domain of the referring website and this hash. The public pages of this site use no cookies, no third-party analytics and no advertising trackers, which is why there is no cookie banner.
- Server logs: the hosting provider may record connection data such as IP address, time, requested address and browser type for security and to keep the site running. We do not link these logs to your form entries.
3. Why we use it
To answer your enquiry and make you a non-binding offer for your motorhome, campervan or caravan; to ask follow-up questions and arrange a viewing or collection; to conclude the purchase, pay you, collect the vehicle at your home and handle its deregistration at the road traffic office (Strassenverkehrsamt); to obtain a settlement quote from your lender if you authorise us to; to meet statutory record-keeping duties; and to run the website securely and evaluate its use anonymously. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising unless you agree.
4. Legal basis
Under Swiss law we may process personal data provided we respect the principles of the data protection act – in particular lawfulness, proportionality, purpose limitation, transparency and data security – and do not unlawfully infringe your personality rights. For people in the EU or EEA we additionally rely on the GDPR grounds of taking steps towards, and performing, a contract; our legitimate interest in a secure website and anonymous usage statistics; legal obligations such as record-keeping; and your consent where we expressly ask for it, which you may withdraw at any time without affecting processing carried out before.
5. Who receives data
- Hosting provider: the website and the data submitted through the form are stored with [Hosting-Anbieter], which processes them on our behalf and on our instructions.
- Road traffic office: the details needed to deregister the vehicle.
- Lease or loan providers: the details and your signed authority needed to obtain a settlement quote, if you ask us to.
- Other service providers: where we involve third parties for collection, transport, payment processing or IT operations, they receive only the data they need for their task and are bound to confidentiality.
- Authorities and courts: where we are legally required to disclose data.
Where data is processed outside Switzerland – for example by the hosting provider or when you contact us via WhatsApp – we make sure adequate protection is in place, either because the country offers a recognised adequate level of protection or through suitable contractual safeguards.
6. How long we keep data
Enquiries that do not lead to a purchase are deleted, together with any uploaded photos, after [Aufbewahrungsdauer]. If we buy your vehicle, we keep the contract and related documents for as long as statutory record-keeping obligations for business records require. The anonymised visit statistics contain no personal data. Server logs are deleted by the hosting provider under its own rules.
7. Security
We protect your data with technical and organisational measures against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. The connection between your browser and this website is encrypted, and only the people who need to handle your enquiry and photos can see them.
8. Your rights
You may ask whether and what data we hold about you, have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected, request deletion where no statutory retention duty stands in the way, object to processing or ask us to restrict it, receive the data you gave us in a common electronic format, and withdraw any consent you have given. To exercise these rights, write to info@wohnmobilankaufschweiz.ch or to the postal address above; we may ask you to confirm your identity so that data is not released to the wrong person. You can also complain to a data protection authority – in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), in the EU or EEA the authority where you live – although we would welcome the chance to resolve any concern with you directly first.
9. No automated decisions
We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing, and we do not build personality profiles.
10. Contact
Questions about data protection: Autoankauf Schweiz AG, Aadorferstrasse 30, 8353 Elgg, phone and WhatsApp 076 226 46 46, e-mail info@wohnmobilankaufschweiz.ch.
11. Changes
We may update this policy when our processing or the legal requirements change. The version published on this website applies; in case of doubt, the German version prevails.
